This song is titles "People are Strange" by The Doors. Its a very great song, and to me I believe it stands for life in the city. People look at you and think they know what your like just by looking at the outer shell. The conisder you ugly or mentally ill. But they don't know at all. Which in return makes them stranger than you. (referring to the you meaning anyone in general)
People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one reNaval Aviators your name When you're strange X3 People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one reNaval Aviators your name When you're strange X3 When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one reNaval Aviators your name When you're strange X3

One of the happiest, most upbeat, non-soundtrack songs I know... Just a happy way to tell someone to let go of inhibitions.
"Don't Fight It" by Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry
Live long enough you're bound to find Moonshine'll make a man go blind Never can tell what the brew will do But there's times you'll wind up feelin' so fine
Some women seem to have a knack They'll turn you on and leave you flat Never can tell who's playin' for keeps So tell me now what's holding you back I know your heart can take it
Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do your heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do you heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll only do you good
Some people when they hear a groove Shake their heads cause they just can't approve Well, I turn up the music till it's shakin' the sky Is everybody ready to move
There's times you wanna shake yourself There's nights you wanna yell for help You can fly when you're standing still There's nothing wrong with raising some hell Tonight we're gonna raise it
Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do your heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do you heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do your heart so
Do what mama do, do what daddy do When you gonna make up your mind You can run, but love will find you Ready or not here it comes
Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it Don't fight it, don't fight it
Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do your heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it
Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll only do you good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it It'll do you heart so good Don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it, don't fight it

This is a song called Watch Me Fly, by Crush 40. I think this song is about a guy who's trying to find the right path in life but doesn't really understand what he's looking for.... I'll prolly see it diffrently tomorrow but what ever lol its a great song
Well I've been wondering bout who I am And just how far I'd drive to see the end I started from, when I believe I've won And as the sweat rolls down my face I put my heart into this place of mine Go back in time, to see what I'm living in... My will (my will), my way (my way) My fear (my fear) fades away With wings (with wings) I fly high Watch me fly... It's just my wild heart moving in It's just my will to live the win you know I need it so Life's when the race begins And all the years I've wondered why I've stared at speed with open eyes you see It lives in me Now that's what sets me free My will (my will), my way (my way) My fear (my fear) fades away With wings (with wings) I fly high Watch me fly... I keep this fire, burning inside me The thrill of desire Coming over, over me... Guitar Solo Now I believe whether near or far The road is windy there where you are Try to take the curve, next turn another learned And so I finally see my way Straight and true pass yesterday my friend I've waited for, the thrill, the chase forever more Watch me fly...

I've just realized that I haven't posted the song that my username comes from! So, here you go.
"Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins
Revvin' up your engine Listen to her howlin' roar Metal under tension Beggin' you to touch and go
Highway to the danger zone Ride into the danger zone
Heading into twilight Spreading out her wings tonight She's got you jumping off the deck And shoving into overdrive
Highway to the danger zone I'll take you Right into the danger zone
They'll never say hello to you Until you get it on the red line overload You'll never know what you can do Until you get it up as high as you can go
Out along the edges Always where I burn to be The further on the edge The hotter the intensity
Highway to the danger zone Gonna take you Right into the danger zone Highway to the danger zone

Okay well here it is another one of my favorites, Wasted Time by Skidrow <3
You and I together in our lives Sacred ties would never fray Then why can´t I let myself tell lies And watch you die every day
I think back to the times When dreams were what mattered Tough talking youth naivete
You said you never let me down But the horse stampedes and rages In the name of desperation
Is it all just wasted time Can you look at yourself When you think of what You left behind
Is it all just wasted time Can you live with yourself When you think of what You left behind
Paranoid delusions they haunt you Where´s my friend I used to know He´s all alone He´s buried deep within a carcass Searching for a soul
Can you feel me inside your heart As it´s bleeding Why can´t you belive you Can´t be loved
I hear you scream in agony And the horse stampedes and rages In the name of desperation
Is it all just wasted time Can you look at yourself When you think of what You left behind
Is it all just wasted time Can you live with yourself When you think of what You left behind
You said you never let me down But the horse stampedes and rages In the name of desperation
Is it all just wasted time Can you look at yourself When you think of what You left behind
Is it all just wasted time Can you live with yourself When you think of what You left behind
The sun will rise again The earth will turn to sand Creation´s colors seem to fade to grey And you´ll see the sickly hands of time Will write your final rhyme And end a memory
I never thought you´d let it get This far, boy

Okay, I can keep with this theme... Here's some more Skid Row for you. I always kinda had a soft spot for this one -- it's probably my favorite Skid Row song (so far, that is).
"I Remember You"
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain, The wind would whisper and I'd think of you. And all the tears you cried that called my name. And when you needed me I came through.
I paint a picture of the days gone by When love went blind and you would make me see I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes So that I knew that you were there for me Time after time, you were there for me
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand Love letters in the sand, I remember you Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you
We spent the summer with the top rolled down Wished ever after would be like this You said "I love you babe," without a sound I said I'd give my life for just one kiss I'd live for your smile, and die for your kiss
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand Love letters in the sand, I remember you Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you
We've had our share of hard times But that's the price we paid And through it all, we kept the promise that we made I swear you'll never be lonely...
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain Washed away a dream of you But nothing else could ever take you away 'Cause you'll always be my dream come true Oh, my darling, I love you!
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand Love letters in the sand, I remember you Through the sleepless nights, through every endless day I'd wanna hear you say, I remember you
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand Love letters in the sand, I remember you Through all the sleepless nights, through every endless day I'd wanna hear you say I remember I remember you oh, yeah...

Becase this thread is neglected, I feel the need to double-post. Besides, this song has been haunting me for almost a month now. I can't get it out of my head... And the sentiment that you don't have to decide one way or the other to exercise your free will is kind of like my light at the end of the tunnel.
Freewill - Rush
There are those who think that life Has nothing left to chance A host of holy horrors To direct our aimless dance A planet of playthings We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot percieve "The stars aren't aligned Or the gods are malign" Blame is better to give than recieve Yuo can choose a ready guide In some celestial voice If you choose not to decide You still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears Or kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose free will There are those who think that They've been dealt a losing hand The cards were stacked against them They weren't born in Lotus Land All pre-ordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate Kicked in the face You can pray for a place In Heaven's unearthly estate You can choose a ready guide In some celestial voice If you choose not to decide You still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears Or kindness that can kill I will choose a path that's clear I will choose free will Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a frtune hunt That's far too fleet You can choose a ready guide In some celestial voice If you choose not to decide You still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears And kindness that can kill I will chose a path that's clear I will choose free will

Okay, since no one else seems to be taking any initiative... I'll just add another song to this topic. How about some Dokken this time? Since I've been wandering around humming "Don't Lie To Me" I'll just post that one.
You didn't see me, but I overheard A short conversation, just a few words A lie and a whisper, a knife in my back The things you were saying lead me to believe You want no part of me
Leave me go, turn and walk away, turn your back on me If you stay, there's just one thing that I've got to say
Just don't lie to me Don't treat me like a fool Just don't lie to me Like the way you used to do
Voices that whisper, dark deep despair Burns me like fire, these things that I hear
Leave me go, turn and walk away, turn your back on me If you stay, there's just one thing that I've got to say
Just don't lie to me Don't treat me like a fool Just don't lie to me Like the way you used to do
Tell me it's over, don't tell me you care Don't wanna hear it no more Don't say you love me, if the feeling's not there Just turn and leave me, I want no part of you
Just don't lie to me Don't treat me like a fool Just don't lie to me Like the way you used to do
Just don't lie to me Don't treat me like a fool Just don't lie to me Like the way you used to do
Just don't lie to me Or I'll be on my way Just don't lie to me I won't be back again
Just don't lie to me Don't treat me like a fool Just don't lie to me Like the way you used to do
Just don't lie to me

This one is too catchy... I can't stop singing it. Hopefully posting the lyrics will help.
Bang Bang - Danger Danger
Bang! Bang!
It was a warm night on the south side of town They said they’d seen ya You were sneakin’ around with a stranger, Girl these rumors are drivin’ me mad
All my good friends turn their face to the wall When they see me, what the hell’s goin’ on am I so blind That I can’t see when I’m being had
I know it’s silly but girl I really thought we had a chance I must’ve been crazy!
Bang Bang, what’s that sound I gave you my love and you shot me down Bang Bang, you’re so cool Playin’ a game, someday you’re gonna lose Bang! Bang!
Girl you told me you were not like the rest Then you showed me now you’re failing the test It was easy just an urge in the heat of the nite
I believed you, now that’s all in the past Cause I made some mistakes but I’m learnin’ fast Never put your heart on the line! Never put your heart on the line!
I know it’s silly but girl I really thought we had a chance I must’ve been crazy!
Bang Bang, what’s that sound I gave you my love and you shot me down Bang Bang, you’re so cool Playin’ a game, someday you’re gonna lose
Bang Bang, what’s that sound I gave you my love and you shot me down Bang Bang, you’re so cool Playin’ a game, someday you’re gonna lose
Bang! Bang! You shot me down Bang Bang Oh, you shot me down

Another one that's been stuck in my head. Up until yesterday, I forgot just how much I loved this song... I love story songs about small town life, mostly because they hold a mirror to my life. It's a chance to reflect. (Mind you, smal towns in Indiana aren't run by gangs or drug addicts like half of this town is... But the better part of Pemberton is completely overtaken by farms. So it's still a chance to reflect...)
"Cherry Bomb" by John Cougar Mellencamp
Well I lived on the outskirts of town In an eight room farmhouse, baby When my brothers and friends were around There was always somethin' doin' Had me a couple of real nice girlfriends Stopped by to see me every once in a while When I think back about those days All I can do is sit and smile
That's when a smoke was a smoke And groovin' was groovin' And dancin' meant everything We were young and we were improvin' Laughin', laughin' with our friends Holdin' hands meant somethin', baby Outside the club "Cherry Bomb" Our hearts were really thumpin' Say yeah yeah yeah Say yeah yeah yeah
The winter days they last forever But the weekends went by so quick Went ridin' around this little country town We were goin' nuts, girl, out in the sticks One night, me with my big mouth A couple guys had to put me in my place When I see those guys these days We just laugh and say do you remember when
That's when a smoke was a smoke And groovin' was groovin' And dancin' meant everything We were young and we were improvin' Laughin', laughin' with our friends Holdin' hands meant somethin', baby Outside the club "Cherry Bomb" Our hearts were really thumpin' Say yeah yeah yeah Say yeah yeah yeah
Say yeah yeah yeah Say yeah yeah yeah
Seventeen has turned thirty-five I'm surprised that we're still livin' If we've done any wrong I hope that we're forgiven Got a few kids of my own And some days I still don't know what to do I hope that they're not laughing too loud When they hear me talkin' Like this to you
That's when a smoke was a smoke And groovin' was groovin' And dancin' meant everything We were young and we were improvin' Laughin', laughin' with our friends Holdin' hands meant somethin', baby Outside the club "Cherry Bomb" Our hearts were really thumpin' Say yeah yeah yeah Say yeah yeah yeah...

(This is, what, my sixth post in a row? It actually doesn't bother me any more. XD) Yeah, so I bought a VHS copy of Point Break on a whim late last month. I've watched it seven times since I brought it home. It's really not that awesome of a movie, but it's addictive. And the soundtrack kicks ass. L.A. Guns, Little Caesar, and RATT... Not much more in the world you could ask for on the soundtrack for an early-90's surfer action flick...
But this one song in particular has been attacking me. I'm a pretty big RATT fan (totally psyched about seeing them in three weeks), so I had heard "Nobody Rides For Free" before watching the movie (it may have been the motivation behind the impulse-buy that is my copy of Point Break)... But it didn't strike me as quite so... godly... then. I liked it, but it didn't stick out in my mind. Then I saw the movie, and I started to understand the song better, and all of a sudden I'm in love with it.
I mean, the vocals are hoarse and gritty, the drums and bass are thumping, the ever-present guitar solo is loud and brash, just like RATT should be, but the melody is this unexpectedly haunting, metallic surf guitar sound.
It's friggin' beautiful when you put it all together. Thank you, God, for loud rock music with some art to it.
Anyway, enough of my review - on to the lyrics!
RATT -- Nobody Rides for Free
Well my dreams keep on haunting me Get back -- let me be who I wanna be If she could only see herself in my eyes This wouldn't be such a big surprise
I'm sick and tired of getting in my own way I'm sick and tired of everything I see But I know
Nobody rides for free Nobody rides for free
Don't stop to think 'Cause I know where I stand I'm on my way No, you're not gonna change my plan If you can break away And see what I say You'll understand what's Burning inside of me
I'm sick and tired of talkin' 'bout good ol' days I'm sick and tired of everyone in my way
Nobody rides for free Nobody rides for free Nobody rides... (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody)
You've gotta pay to play So don't you stand in my way 'Cause nobody Nobody rides for free
Now the water was deep And the current was strong You thought he could swim, but I Guess you were wrong You sink to the depths of your misery Baby, the past wil set you free
(SOLO)
Nobody rides for free Nobody rides for free Nobody rides... (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody) Nobody rides for free (Nobody)
You've gotta pay to play So don't you stand in my way 'Cause nobody Nobody rides for free Nobody rides for free Nobody rides for free...

Oh... My... God... Look What The Cat Dragged In!
I went to bed too late and got up too soon My poor head still spinnin' from too much booze
I got a foot in the gutter A foot in the grave I ain't seen home In the last three days
Oh my god look what the cat dragged in Livin' my life sin after sin Night rolls up and I do it again Oh my god, look what the cat dragged in
No tell, motel, hotel bed If it wasn't for the sunlight I'd swear I was dead
I got a girl on the left of me a girl on the right I know damn well I slept with both last night
Oh my god look what the cat dragged in Livin' my life sin after sin Night rolls up and I do it again Oh my god, look what the cat dragged in
I'm late for work on Monday and my boss is bitchin' Can't get out of bed cause my head's still spinnin'
My hair's in a rat's nest I look like hell Half alive or half dead, I just can't tell
Oh my god look what the cat dragged in Livin' my life sin after sin Night rolls up and I do it again Oh my god, look what the cat dragged in
...This was only put here because I've just realized the thread had yet to be Poison'd! and I had to fix that. I'm a fangirl and all... What kind of fangirl doesn't post lyrics when the opportunity arises?

Yeah, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band put out a new album two weeks ago... I'm your quintessential Boss-loving Jersey girl, so I just had to drop in and post the lyrics to the latest single: "Radio Nowhere." It's an amazing song. ...If you read into it, you can hear the Boss mourning the digital age and what may well be the impending doom of AM/FM radio. The sheer truth of that makes me distraught, but damn... What a song.
I was trying to find my way home, But all I heard was a drone. Bouncin' off a satellite Crushing the last long American night.
This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there?
I was sitting around a dirt dial Just another lost number in a file. Been in some kinda dark cove Just searching for a world with some soul.
This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? Is there anybody alive out there?
I just want to hear some rhythm. I just want to hear some rhythm I just want to hear some rhythm. I just want to hear some rhythm.
I want a thousand guitars. I want pounding drums. I want a million different voices speaking in tongues.
This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? Is there anybody alive out there?
I was driving thru the misty rain Yeah, searching for a mystery train. Bopping thru the wild blue Trying to make a connection with you.
This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? This is radio nowhere. Is there anybody alive out there? Is there anybody alive out there?
I just want to hear some rhythm (you swoon.) I just want to hear some rhythm (you swoon.) I just want to hear you swoon. I just want to hear you swoon. I just want to hear you swoon. I just want to hear you swoon. I just want to hear you swoon. I just want to hear you swoon.
