Ice nods in agreement. [glow=blue,2,300]"Death and SOD's* come on swift wings to those caught out after dark by Stinger or the Air Boss... And I'm getting tired anyway."[/glow]
Wolfman, already halfway on his way to the barracks, calls [glow=green,2,300]"Goodnight!"[/glow] over his shoulder.
Wolfie finally notices she's the only one who still wants to stay outside -- mostly because SOD's don't scare a person who's not enlisted. "Oh, all right. You guys win. Let's go to bed." She then realizes Goose might need somewhere to sleep. "Goose, you want to hang in the barracks with the guys or crash in the cabin where you're less likely to be noticed?"
*An SOD is like a failing grade for an aviator. They're not good -- and if you get more than three, you're put up for review, and you could get your wings taken away!

"I'm pretty sure he can't get through the winglie barriers Wolfie, and if he can I'd be damn suprised...although we could do nothing but try I suppose."
[glow=00EE76,2,200]"We should try that first, worst things worse I could always hang with the guys, and keep a little on the quiet side. You know you can trust me.[/glow]
"Then I guess off in the way of the village we go then dont'cha suppose. Its not to far from the barracks, we're always close, and the walkie talkies are charging so make sure you turn your's on when you get back alright Ice!" Kat says running down the list of things not to forget. "Don't forget to comb your hair Slider, cause I won't be there to do it this time around." she scratches her head..."anything else?" she looks over at Wolfie.

"Methinks you got everything... Wait, at least one of you guys should stay awake until you hear from us about Goose, okay?" Wolfie adds at the last second.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Yeah, okay. See y'all in the morning, if not sooner because of Goose,"[/glow] Ice says, yawning.
Wolfie turns her attention back to Goose. "Well, technically, you're dead, correct?"
[glow=00EE76,2,300]"Technically, yeah. Why?"[/glow]
"Then you might slip through major loophole number one in the winglie barrier. It's there to protect them from humans, and since you're now a disembodied, incorporeal spirit, you shouldn't pose a threat to them and should therefore have no trouble with the barrier."
[glow=00EE76,2,300]"But I'm a disembodied, incorporeal human spirit. Wouldn't that effect it?"[/glow]
"Eh, only one way to find out, I suppose... Let's go."

"Uh, disembodied bodies of bodyily human bodyness might be able to pass through," Kat says twittling her thumbs. "I suppose I could section off a piece of the shield and dispell it for Goose to slide through, like I normally do for you Wolfie! Dunno how I forgot about that, we do it on a regular basis." Kat blurted.
[glow=red,2,200]"Yeah How did you forget that. Women, or girls for that matter can't sleep in the barracks. It'd be against the regulations." Slider explained.[/glow]
I'd believe we're ready to go now," Kat blinked dumbfoundedly, "Uh Slider? What the heck is that on your head?"

"Well don't I feel stupid for forgetting that..."
[glow=blue,2,300]"Dope. She does that for you, what, twice a day?"[/glow] Ice asks, shaking his head in disbelief. [glow=blue,2,300]"You know what? Nevermind. Good night."[/glow]
Wolfie smiles and shrugs it off. "I dunno... I've been all out of sorts since I finally found out what Wolfman's real name is... Blame it on the shock, I suppose."
Ice, taunting Wolfie as he leaves for the barracks, calls [glow=blue,2,300]"Peanut Butter!"[/glow] over his shoulder.
Wolfie collapses on the ground giggling madly. In gasps and between bursts of laughter, she manages to say, "I told you... I was... out of sorts.... I'm.... laughing at.... everything!"

[glow=red,2,200]Slider reached up and felt the top of his head. "Oh you mean my pirate hat. I made it today in arts and crafts...."[/glow] "There's an arts and crafts on base?" Kat said in shock. "Why wasn't I invited!!!"[glow=red,2,200]"Well uh, Kat...You're the founder remember." Slider said knocking on her head.[/glow] Kat's eye twitched, "Its not arts and crafts its called FINE ARTS, GAHHHH!!!! We're leaving." Kat grabbed Wolfie's arm and dragged her along.

Wolfie, so used to being hauled around by one arm she barely notices it any more, mutters something about Kat's art-dependency rubbing off on everyone and how it was good for the jet-jocks and CO's to get some sort of a creative outlet.
"Hey, Kat? Are we going back to the village or are we visiting the Air Boss? I mean, as far as I can tell -- which isn't very far, considering I'm following a pretty odd azimuth* in relation to the direction we're really heading in -- we're heading for the Air Control Tower."
*Azimuth - noun - the horizontal angle of the observer's bearing in surveying, measured clockwise from a referent direction, as from the north, or from a referent celestial body, usually Polaris.

Kat continues walking away from the group, "Come on Wolfie you think I'm" she blinked and look at the air control tower. "Eh heh, oops." She turned and started walking in the opposite direction. Swiftly walking past the guys, and playing off ever going in the wrong direction.

Wolfie ponders wrestling her arm free and walking along on her own, but the very slim chance of her ever overpowering Kat cancels that thought. She resigns herself to the dragging and wonders if the barrier around the winglie village has any special clauses or fine print about disembodied spirits.
"Kinda wishing I had a full legal contract or a detailed description of that barrier right now... Kat, are there any special clauses about or amendments to the conditions of the Winglie Village Barrier?"

"Not that I know off, everythings pretty much set and stone with the barrier. I thinks maybe I should ask the wiseman when we get back. I'm almost certain though I can get you and goose through fine just as always" Kat smiled, she stopped walking and released Wolfie, she grabbed her hand and helpped her stand up. "I think you'll like the trip much better walking." She laughed

"Aber ja, danke shoen.*"** Wolfie says. "Ja, you probably can get us through... But talking to the wiseman might be a good idea. I wonder if I could get a full legal documentation from the wiseman....? Naw, probably not. Oh well. I'll just have to explore on my own, I guess. ...Sorry. I'm rambling. I should talk about something else. No, I'd just ramble more if I thought of something else to talk about. I'm just gonna shut up for now..."
*since DBD apparently doesn't support umlauts, that "oe" is an unofficial equivalent of an "o" with an umlaut.
** That sentence translates roughly to "Of course -- thank you much."

After a while of walking through thick sections of forest Kat approached the winglie barrier. Though it wasn't visible to humans. She walked directly through it, turned and faced Wolfie and placed her hands on it. "Make what cannot be seen visible to thine eye." The barrier flickered like a broken television screen as it came into view. Kat ran her hand along the side and it started to dispell. "Come on, it wont stay this way long." She smiled.

Ya know, I never cease marvelling at that..." Wolfie says to Kat as she slips through the opening in the Winglie Barrier. "But I say that every time I watch you do this, don't I...?" Wolfie rambles. She answers her own question -- "Yeah, I do. But, hey, whatever." She glances around, fixing her baseball cap to block the glare of the high-powered lights in the hangars and Air Control Tower. "C'mon, Goose, let's see if this dead-but-reincarnated thing offers you any immunity."

"Well I suppose its time for us to get to the house." Kat motioned for goose to come through the gap in the barrier. "It'll be alright I'm sure!" she smiled

Wolfie looks around, watching the last of the night-owl winglies head for their homes. She turns in a full circle, taking in the image of the winglie village as though it's her first time beyond the barrier even though she's been through the invisible roadblock hundreds of times before.
[glow=00EE76,2,300]"Do you do that all the time?"[/glow] Goose asks, stepping through the opening.
"Do I do what all the time?" Wolfie responds with a question of her own. She then rambles to herself, "I figured it would work, him being dead and all..."
[glow=00EE76,2,300]"Turn in circles and look around like you've never been here before."[/glow]
"Yeah, I guess. Something always seems different every time I cross the barrier. Maybe it is; I dunno. Kinda like a walkaround inspection before a cat shot -- you never know what's changed since the last time, and it's better to be prepared than to be caught off-guard." Wolfie explained.
[glow=00EE76,2,300]"Good analogy. Except being unprepared for a cat shot can kill you and the winglies are about as peaceful as they come."[/glow] Goose added.
"Yeah, true. Anyway... Wiseman. Let's go. Kat, lead the way!" Wolfie cries, pushing her glasses back from the tip of her nose and adjusting her baseball cap as she turns to set off for a visit to the Wiseman.
